Some Banks Struggle with How to Analyze Audio Files — Market Talk

11:56 EDT – Some of the compliance workers at banks now are looking to find better ways to track their employees. Some push to compress audio files to save money, but others worry that could made it harder to differentiate people’s voices, says Tim Estes, chief executive of Digital Reasoning, a communication-analysis company working with banks including UBS and Goldman Sachs (GS). Financial services firms are also debating whether to convert audio files to text for easier analysis but that could require storing the files longer under certain jurisdictions.
